CRYSTAL TEA ROOM WEDDING OF ELANA & SPENCER’S PHILADELPHIA, PA
We had the opportunity to photograph Elana and Spencer during their GTKY in Philadelphia at the Please Touch museum. Unfortunately, we were unable to post a lot of the images online due to copyright regulations, but we did get to create so much with them outside of the museum that we were able to post! It was great to see them again on their wedding day. We started off by creating with Spencer while he was getting ready at the Loews Hotel in Philly. His dad surprised us with an impromptu “just-a-towel” mini session. We then joined Elana in her room to photograph her getting ready. She looked absolutely stunning! The perfect spot for their First Meet was on the staircases of the hotel, which provided a unique setting for their story to unfold. From there, we created bridal party images in downtown Philadelphia in and around City Hall.
We headed directly down the street to the Crystal Tea Room wedding venue for Elana and Spencer’s ceremony and reception. The processional and decorations for their Chuppah were beautiful. EBE Barcelona helped make for such a great reception. The dance floor was huge, and all of the guests were having a good time. At one point, they made a “human bridge” out of their hands and guests were dancing through underneath, one guest even pulled Kathryn into the fun. We were able to take Elana and Spencer outside for a few minutes to create at night outside of City Hall on Broad Street. Everyone has seen photos of grooms lifting brides up, but rarely do you ever see the bride lifting the groom up outside of City Hall. Major props to Elana for her upper arm strength allowing us to create some fun, original memories. We can’t wait to see them again, and wish them nothing but the best! We love photographing a Crystal Tea Room wedding!
The Crystal Tea Room sits on the ninth floor of the historic Wanamaker Building in Center City Philadelphia, a landmark that opened in 1911. The gilded ceiling, crystal chandeliers, and sweeping ballroom floor have hosted some of the most lavish weddings in the city’s history. If you are looking for a venue that brings genuine old-world grandeur to a Philadelphia wedding, there is nothing else quite like it. See our full guide to the best Philadelphia wedding venues for more on what the city has to offer.
