Brandi & Matt were great to work with for their Rutgers University engagement session. They wanted to have their GTKY session up at Rutgers New Brunswick. As alumni it was special for them to go back to the campus together. She did not call ahead so that we could photograph in the stadium. We had to pull some covert operations to get in, and within 2 minutes we had to speak to one of the service guards on a pimped out golf cart. We had explained that we did not bring any paperwork. Which was not a lie because we never had any… Either way we had an fun session and I can’t wait to spend more time with Brandi and Matt at their wedding this August at One Atlantic in Atlantic City, NJ.
Why Rutgers University Works for Engagement Photographs
Rutgers New Brunswick is one of the older land-grant campuses on the East Coast, chartered in 1766, and that age shows in the architecture, the brickwork, the river paths along the Raritan. The football stadium has a different texture inside than any manicured garden, especially the tunnels, where the light drops into dramatic contrast. The Raritan River walk on the south side of campus opens up long sight lines and tree cover that creates natural fill light. For couples who met at Rutgers, coming back with a photographer is less about scenic backdrops and more about the specific corners of a place that already mean something.

We had to do some random serious poses by the Super Pretzel stand….
