When I first met Christina and Jeff we pretty much knew we were going to have to do a Casablanca style GTKY session. If you have not seen Casablanca go buy that or Netflix it ASAP. It is a pure classic! She loved the idea and it is one of her favorite movies. I had found a local airport hangar for the session and had to get security clearance to shoot there. They did an amazing job with clothing. It was perfect! The session was shot on mostly B/W high speed film using hot lights to give it the classic look. I am really looking forward to their wedding in March of 2012 at The Collingswood Ballroom. “Play it, Sam!”
The Collingswood Ballroom is one of South Jersey’s most storied wedding venues. Built in the 1920s, the grand ballroom features ornate plasterwork, arched ceilings, and original hardwood floors that feel lifted straight out of a classic Hollywood film. It’s one of the few venues in the region that genuinely earns the word “grand” without any help from uplighting or drape. For a couple who planned their entire engagement session around a Bogart film, it was exactly the right room for a March wedding.

Christina and Jeff were heading to The Collingswood Ballroom in March 2012. The B/W high speed film for this session was hand-processed and scanned through a professional lab. Hot lights gave the setup that classic studio-portrait contrast you see in old Hollywood stills. If you have not seen Casablanca, go find it. The last frame of the gallery is a pretty good argument for watching it tonight.
