1. What is your shooting style?
I would summarize my style as documentary mixed with high-fashion fun. Most of the day, I am capturing the events as they happen. We’ll also set aside time to create beautiful photographs and have a lot of fun while we do so.
2. Do you offer the digital negatives?
We offer high-resolution, color-corrected files on DVD in some of our collections and they can be added on to any of the collections.
3. Do you shoot engagement sessions?
Yes, but I look at them differently—I like to call them Getting to Know You sessions. They are completely custom sessions where we spend about 60-90 minutes getting to know each other and creating beautiful photographs that are as unique as you are.
4. Do you travel?
Yes, we travel throughout the United States and worldwide.
5. Do you take posed family group photos?
We typically spend about 15-20 minutes of your day taking formal family photos. You will never see these on my site, but these are an essential part of your wedding. The formals are completed very quickly and efficiently, and I promise to make them as fun as possible.![]()
6. Do you have an assistant or second photographer?
At each wedding we have an assistant that helps with lighting and equipment but also shoots during the ceremony. A full-time second professional photographer is available depending on the size of your wedding.
7. How many proofs are delivered from our wedding?
There are typically between 500-1000 proofs delivered from each wedding.
8. How long does it take to receive my goodies?
Your proofs are typically posted within 2-3 weeks after your wedding. The album designs are usually ready in about 4-5 weeks All albums are custom-designed by our in-house design department, and are usually ready for you in about 4-5 weeks. Album printing takes 6-8 weeks after it receives your final approval.
9. Do you have insurance?
I have an insane amount of business insurance! We are also Canon Gold Support members, so we can get camera loan equipment and repair within 1-2 days notice before the wedding.
10. How do we reserve our wedding date with you?
I require a $1,200 retainer along with a signed agreement to hold your date. If multiple brides are looking at the same date, I honor the first couple to have their retainer and agreement in my hands .
11. When do we pay the remaining balance?
Half of the remaining balance (after the retainer) is due 60 days prior to the wedding date. The final balance is due 30 days prior to the wedding date.
12. What if you are too sick to photograph on my wedding day?
Well, you can rest assured that I am very healthy, but if some extenuating situation occurs I have a list of photographers that are available to cover the day. I am also a member of the PPA and GUILD which both have vast networks of available photographers.
13. How far in advance should we book our photographer?
Our brides typically book their dates 12-16 months prior to their wedding.
14. What forms of payment do you accept?
We accept credit cards, checks, and cash.
15. Do you have backup equipment?
We have four professional digital bodies for the day along with a large collection of lenses and flash units. We also make sure to have other “emergency” equipment, like four cans of bug spray for those special outdoor locations.
16. Do you back up our wedding files?
We have an extremely secure backup policy. All wedding files are stored on two separate RAID systems and on a set of gold-plated archival DVD’s in studio and kept on another set of gold-plated archival DVD’s in a waterproof and fireproof safe in our climate-controlled, off-site location.
